Vintage lacy French Wedding.commission

Morning sweet peeps...and the suns out..but dont shout it out it may disapear im sure its shy!!!!....well after yesterday visit another surprise to quickly pop and see one of my resis,,,,i had a inquiry  from her to possible amke a very ott card for a wedding in France..but her friends  wanting list went on a my resis friend was visiting her last week and admired  the egg i made her (which even though easter has gone she still keeps on show aw how sweet..)well this  friend saw it and begged it off her to take home to Crick,,,,because her grandaughter is getting married in France on the 9th May and she had been trying to find a  very unique card..the story was...her grandaughter whilst moving to France  from her parent's home ages ago and went into the attic for some of her bits and found much to the amazement of her mother a wedding dress that along with a couple of very old photos was the dress her  great gran married in back in 1912...and although her  great grandmother would have nearlly been a 100 this year the daughter's mum   had inherited the family home had never gone to the this find was very sentimental and although it was slighly discoloured it had survived all these years in brown paper and string ....the grandaughter wasnt at the time even courting but vowed shed wear the dress when and if she ever!!!hope you havent fallen asleep...yet..quite a long post so grab a cofee and a sandwich you might  need refreshement if you stay with it..LOL!!!!!

anway to cut a  long story short ..she moved out to do a aupair in france meet and feel in love...and yes the dress having been taken to bits and re modelled sligtly ie the size her gran must have been a average sized the grandaughter is a size 8....(oh i wish i was.).anyway they took it to a seamstress all the way  York..who restored old garments and stiched and stiched the few holes got rid of the moth ball smell...and although still very much the style except for a lower neckline..its being worn on Wednesday in back to my egg..the colours aparently matched this lace on the said wedding dress..and i was asked if i had any left which i had..and could i make a very femine lacey vintage themed card..we were going to use one of original   picci's but as it was very delicate( and didnt fancy using it because of the sentimentality attached to it  i came up with a alternitive picci from ladies in Lace..which she liked and the card was born..phew what a long post hope you havent fallen has been delivered..she is over the moon have left the inside very plain as her daughter delves in sassy walked off merrily with payment  firmly in her little hand .....and the card is being taken to the wedding in its box,,, by destination in Bordeaux ...But talk about short notice was up till late Thursday  night to finish...but it will be on its way on Tuseday for the vintage themed wowow!!! i was thrilled to be asked and thrilled she loved it....just on  last note..many huge thanks to all my new followers hope you visit now  and again and for all the lovely comments..its such a boost...sassy hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Your short notice card is beautiful! I suppose you couldn't say no after hearing that story! Love all the wonderful detail and the lace - and the matching pins too!

Hope you sun stays out longer than ours - in fact, it hasn't even made an appearance yet - well, I know it's the same sun but you know what I mean - lol. xx
